2009 – 2010 State Qualifying Procedures

DIVING

District One will receive seven (7) automatic AAA qualifiers. The total number of automatic qualifiers throughout the state will be 24 Divers in each category. All 12 Districts will be represented at the State Meet.

SWIMMING

AUTOMATIC INDIVIDUAL AND RELAY STATE QUALIFIERS

District One will receive four (4) automatic AAA qualifiers and two (2) automatic AA qualifiers. The total number of automatic qualifiers throughout the State will be sixteen (16) swimmers. All twelve (12) Districts will be represented at the State Meet.

ADDITIONAL INDIVIDUAL STATE QUALIFIERS FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL EVENT

In addition to the sixteen (16) swimmers selected in the District Championships across the State; sixteen (16) additional swimmers throughout the State will be selected by time. The total number of swimmers in each individual event will not exceed thirty-two (32). There will be a maximum of four (4) heats in each individual event. In the event of a tie, which will result in going over four (4) heats the swimmers that tie for the thirty second (32nd) spot will not qualify for the State Meet.

ADDITIONAL RELAY STATE QUALIFIERS FOR EACH RELAY EVENT

In addition to the sixteen (16) relays selected in the District Championships across the State; eight (8) additional relays throughout the State will be selected by time. There will be a maximum of three (3) heats in each relay event. In the event of a tie, which will result in going over three (3) heats, the relays that tie for the twenty-fourth (24th) spot will not qualify for the State Meet.
